Singapore workplace planning

Is an Automated External Defibrillator mandatory in a Singapore workplace?

Treat the legal question and the operational readiness question separately.

Updated: 11 September 2026 · Singapore-first · Claim-safe reseller copy

Start with the current requirements for your premises

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) obligations and expectations can depend on the premises, activity, occupancy, licence conditions, risk profile, and guidance that applies to the operator. CPRAID does not provide legal advice. Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), Facilities, and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) leads should confirm current requirements with the relevant Singapore authorities and competent advisers.

A compliance answer alone does not show whether people can start CPR promptly or retrieve the nearest Automated External Defibrillator (AED) from every operating zone.

Ask the operational questions

  1. Where is each Automated External Defibrillator (AED) cabinet?
  2. Who calls 995 and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)?
  3. Who starts CPR at the incident location?
  4. Who fetches the nearest Automated External Defibrillator (AED)?
  5. What is the real round-trip walk-time from staff and visitor zones?
  6. Who meets responders at the correct entrance, lift, or loading point?

Public guidance is planning context

American Heart Association (AHA) public education emphasises early CPR. European Resuscitation Council (ERC) guidelines frame early recognition, early CPR, and early defibrillation as linked parts of the chain of survival.

We cite the American Heart Association (AHA) and European Resuscitation Council (ERC) for response-planning context only. We do not claim that CPRAIDR® or any CPRAID product changes survival odds.

How CPRAIDR® fits

CPRAID is the Singapore reseller of CPRAIDR® from VitalSigns Innovation AB (Sweden). CPRAIDR® is a dual-use CPR assistant for short staff practice and real-time compression guidance in an emergency. It complements Automated External Defibrillator (AED) programmes; it does not replace defibrillation. Intended for adult patients 18+. Never attribute survival or clinical outcomes to CPRAIDR®.
